By popular request – my take on the 2nd Saturn Return. I haven’t experienced it yet, but I can sense it coming and I’ve done extensive research on this phenomenon.

The Call for Direction
There are already some posts on this site about the second Saturn Return, but the requests – or more accurately, pleas – are for something more specific. I understand. When life is throwing curveballs, or you’re still trying to pick up the pieces after the pandemic, the last thing you want is a “maturing growth passage” or more accountability.
Generation X and the Second Saturn Return
If you’re approaching or already in your second Saturn Return, congratulations, you’re part of Generation X. And not just any Generation X, but the classic, hardcore Gen X with your natal Saturn opposite Uranus + Pluto and maybe Mars in Virgo.
(Note: If you want to determine exactly when your Saturn Return is or which area of your life it’s influencing, consider getting a Year Ahead report.)
A Different Perspective
As a Gen Xer, you don’t want to read idealistic millennial takes on their Saturn Return or hear aging advice from the boomers. You’ve been around the block and you don’t need instructions on “adulting.” Nor do you resonate with the Pluto in Leo folks from the generation before. This time around, your second Saturn Return is not about preparing for a quiet retirement; it’s about preparing for a revolution.
The Influence of Uranus, Pluto, and Mars in Virgo
During the phase when Mars was in Virgo (November 6, 1964, to June 30, 1965), Uranus and Pluto also resided in Virgo. This alignment resulted in multiple Mars-Uranus and Mars-Pluto conjunctions over that nearly eight-month period. Additionally, the Saturn-Uranus opposition was in effect from 1964 until 1967. So, if you’re having your Saturn Return in the next two years, you’ll also experience Saturn opposite your natal Uranus, activating a core “persona pattern” within your psyche.
Let’s call this “a rebellious tendency” – many Gen Xers saw The Matrix as a sci-fi docudrama rather than just sci-fi.
Embracing the Journey
To set the stage for your second Saturn Return, take a moment to read this evocative poem. Then, let’s dive into some pithy Saturn Return tips.
The second Saturn Return may seem daunting, but it’s an opportunity for growth and transformation. Embrace the rebellious spirit within you and use this time to make significant changes in your life.
Whether it’s a career switch, a new relationship, or a complete overhaul of your priorities, trust your intuition and let Saturn guide you. This is your chance to break free from societal expectations and live life on your terms.
Remember, you’re not alone on this journey. Many other Gen Xers are going through the same cosmic rite of passage. Seek support from like-minded individuals and share your experiences. Together, you can navigate the challenges and create a brighter future.
So, if you’re approaching or in the midst of your second Saturn Return, buckle up and get ready for a wild ride. It’s time to unleash your rebellious spirit and make this phase of your life truly extraordinary.
