Fast forward a few years to when WordPress gained popularity. I thought it would finally solve my problems, but alas, the original issues persisted. There was still no system for managing pedigrees, breeding announcements, or updating animal profiles.

Turning the Tide
In 2009, after leaving my job as a systems administrator to pursue website development full-time, I found myself working with many dog breeders through word-of-mouth referrals. However, the dread of updating their sites remained. Determined to find a solution, I spent my spare time developing a basic content management system for managing animal profiles and pedigrees.
Although it was rough and ugly, it did the job. Breeders could now handle their day-to-day updates, allowing me to focus on other projects. But something was missing. I started to miss creating breeding announcements and sharing adorable puppy pictures. The only thing I didn’t miss were those endless pedigrees.
