Hotel Parq Central

If you’re looking for a memorable stay in Albuquerque, New Mexico, look no further than Historic Hotel Parq Central. With its 74 elegant guest rooms, which include 15 suites and three cottages, this hotel offers a truly unforgettable experience. But that’s not all – there are also numerous amenities that will make your stay even more enjoyable, including complimentary breakfast, shuttle services, and a breathtaking rooftop lounge.

Let’s Start at the Top

As soon as I mentioned that I was staying at Hotel Parq Central, my friends from Albuquerque couldn’t help but express their excitement about the rooftop lounge. Upon entering the Apothecary Lounge, located just off the elevator, my friends and I were immediately impressed. We wasted no time and ordered Grey Goose martinis before the elevator doors closed. The lounge itself features industrial seating, providing cozy nooks for intimate conversations or an evening of romance. While we were there, we indulged in some delectable appetizers, including the mouthwatering bacon-wrapped dates that had us making “oink noises” in delight.

The rooftop lounge at Hotel Parq Central boasts a truly outstanding guacamole that will have you singing its praises. Even the most discerning New Mexicans would agree that the guacamole here is on another level. Unfortunately, I was so caught up in the joyful moment that I forgot to take pictures of the food and the interior bar area. However, I can assure you that the sky and views from the outdoor deck are simply breathtaking, no matter the time of day.

The Sleep Suite – Your Oasis of Comfort

Once it was time to retire for the night, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of tranquility as I entered my ground-floor suite. The room greeted me with its soothing neutral tones, and the plush, king-size bed topped with soft white Frette sheets promised a blissful night’s sleep. The spacious bathroom was a delight, and I even heard rumors that the shower could comfortably fit three people.

The Historic Architecture – A Journey into the Past

The story behind Hotel Parq Central is as intriguing as its amenities. The building, originally constructed in 1921, served as the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad Hospital in 1924. Later, in 1982, it was transformed into a mental health institution known as Memorial Hospital. After years of serving the community, the hospital closed its doors in 2007. The Italianate-style building was then recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historical Places. In 2010, the building underwent a meticulous refurbishment and became the exquisite boutique luxury hotel we know today as Hotel Parq Central.

Walking through the corridors of the main building feels like stepping into a scene from your favorite TV series. The elegantly wide hallways allow you and your entourage to walk side by side, just like the characters in “Sex and the City,” “Harlem,” or “Emily in Paris.” The lobby itself exudes modern elegance, with several seating rooms that connect to different corridors. Choose the right hallway, and you’ll discover the spacious breakfast room filled with culinary delights.
