Auctioning “As Is”
While we strive to provide accurate descriptions and details about each item, it is important to note that all property is sold “As Is.” This means that no warranties, whether express or implied, are made regarding the merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or any other aspects of the property. We recommend inspecting the items before bidding, either in-person or by requesting a condition report from our team at info@juliensauctions.com.
Pricing and Buyer’s Premium
We believe in transparency when it comes to pricing. In addition to the successful bid price, a buyer’s premium will be added to the total purchase price. For individual lots priced at $100,000 and higher, a 20% Buyer’s Premium will be applied. Meanwhile, individual lots ranging from $0 to $99,999 will have a 25% Buyer’s Premium. For online lots, there will be an additional 3% buyer’s premium. Rest assured, these premiums apply to all bidders, regardless of affiliation with any group or organization.
Payments and Shipping Made Easy
We want your buying experience to be hassle-free. Payments can be made via wire transfer, cashier’s check, personal check, MasterCard, or Visa. For invoices under $5,000, the credit card on file will be charged automatically, unless alternate arrangements have been made. Once payment is complete, shipping arrangements are handled by ArtPack Inc., our trusted partner. Any shipping inquiries can be directed to artpack@artpackco.com or by phone at (800) 388-5250.
Storage and Customs
To provide convenience and flexibility, we offer 30 days of free pick-up and storage for all Julien’s Auctions clients. After this period, a small storage fee applies. Please note that we do not falsify or claim a lower value on customs documents, and any fees, duties, or taxes related to shipping are the buyer’s responsibility.
Bidding and Reserves
We require bidder registration for all individuals participating in our auctions. This applies whether you are bidding by phone, absentee, in person, or online. Please complete the necessary registration forms to ensure a smooth bidding process. All items are subject to a reserve, which is the confidential minimum price acceptable to the consignor. During live auctions, the auctioneer may open any lot by bidding on behalf of the consignor, up to the reserve amount.
Our Commitment to Customer Satisfaction
At Julien’s Auctions, we value our clients and strive for excellence in every aspect of our business. We reserve the right to withdraw any property before the completion of the sale, with no liability incurred. In the event of any disputes between bidders, our auctioneer has the final discretion to determine the successful bidder, cancel the sale, or re-offer the lot in question. We prioritize customer satisfaction and aim to resolve any post-sale disputes promptly and fairly.
Fulfilling Conditions and Title Transfer
Upon the fall of the auctioneer’s hammer, title to the offered lot passes to the highest bidder. The buyer assumes full risk and responsibility for the purchased item(s) and must pay the full purchase price in a timely manner. We reserve the right to impose a late charge of 1 ½% per month for any payment not made according to the specified conditions. All purchased items must be collected from our premises within 10 business days of the sale. Failure to do so may result in additional handling charges.
Ensuring Your Peace of Mind
In the rare event that the conditions of sale are not met, we may cancel the sale, resell the property, or pursue legal remedies, in addition to holding the defaulting purchaser liable for the total purchase price. However, under no circumstances will Julien’s incur liability to a purchaser in excess of the purchase price actually paid.
Terms of Guarantee
Our “Attribution” warranty offers peace of mind to the original purchaser for a period of five years from the date of sale. If it is determined that the “Attribution” of a lot is incorrect, the sale will be rescinded upon return of the item in the same condition as it was at the time of sale. We may require the purchaser to obtain the opinion of two experts in the field, at the purchaser’s expense, to verify the incorrect attribution.
