At AFOT, finding the perfect home for our dogs is our top priority. These amazing creatures have been through so much, and it is crucial that they end up with the right adopters. While it’s common to be captivated by a dog’s appearance on social media or a website, their suitability goes far beyond looks. Our main goal is to ensure that both you and the dog find the perfect match, and our experienced rehoming team is dedicated to making that happen.

The Importance of the Right Home
Welcoming a new member into your family is an exciting journey, and it all begins here. However, as part of our commitment to rehoming rescue dogs, we kindly ask you to start by reading Our Dog Adoption Policies. This will provide you with valuable insights into the expectations and responsibilities involved in rehoming a dog.
Adopting a dog is a serious decision and should not be taken lightly. Remember, a dog is a long-term commitment that could be by your side for up to 15 years. Along with the essentials like food, toys, and bedding, there are additional costs to consider, such as insurance and vet bills. These expenses can add up, so it’s important to take them into account.
Exercise, Training, and Breed Traits
Aside from the financial commitment, there are other aspects to consider, such as exercise and training. Dogs require plenty of mental and physical stimulation to prevent boredom and potential behavioral issues. Different breeds have different exercise requirements, and even with our mixed breed rescues, we can make educated guesses about their needs. Our comprehensive Guide to Taking On A Rescue Dog offers valuable advice on what to expect during this exciting journey.
Finding Your Perfect Pooch
Once you’ve familiarized yourself with the responsibilities and requirements of adopting a dog, it’s time to find the perfect match. Our Dogs For Rehoming section is where you’ll find most of our dogs who are ready for adoption. Some dogs may still be undergoing assessments and will be added to our website soon.
Each dog is presented with a series of photographs, and some may even have short videos. However, please keep in mind that our foster carers are not professional photographers, and capturing the perfect pose can be a challenge. These images provide a brief snapshot of the dog’s personality, so be sure to read their biography to truly understand what lies beneath the surface.
Our Commitment to Health
At AFOT, we adhere to DEFRA standards and go above and beyond to ensure the health of our dogs. Before leaving Turkey, all our dogs are tested for diseases such as BRUCELLA, LEISHMANIAS, ANAPLASMA, HEARTWORM, and E-CANIS. We will provide proof of these tests and accompanying signed vet letters to the adopter, giving you peace of mind.
Taking the Next Step
Once you’re ready to open your heart and home to a furry friend, it’s time to complete our Adoption Registration Form. Behind the scenes, our dedicated team of experienced rehoming volunteers will spring into action. They will review your form and be in touch with you shortly to discuss potential matches and take the adoption process forward.
Remember, adopting a dog is an incredible and rewarding experience. AFOT is here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring that you and your new four-legged companion embark on a lifelong journey filled with love, joy, and endless happiness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these deserving animals.
