What is a Neptune Line – AstroCartography?
All astro-cartography lines represent the energy of the corresponding planet. So when you connect with or travel to a Neptune Line, you can expect to experience the direct energy of Neptune as expressed in your birth chart.
Neptune, the lord of the sea and ruler of Pisces, embodies one of the most evolved and complex energies to work with. It’s hard to put Neptune energy into simple words, which ironically captures its essence. Neptune rules the dream world, subconscious, and the depths of our emotions and desires. However, when we experience Neptune energy, logical clarity and certainty often elude us.
Neptune energy connects us to our higher hearts, spirituality, inner knowing, and intuition, bypassing the mind. Ultimately, Neptune connects us to the spiritual realm.
Now, let’s delve into the different types of Neptune Lines in astro-cartography and their significance.
Stories from my Neptune Line
In December 2022, I spent several weeks on my Neptune DC (Neptune Setting) line in Assam, North East India.
It felt fitting that I visited that part of India primarily to visit a powerful Shakti peeth – a temple dedicated to the Goddess of creation and life-force energy, Shakti. As I arrived in Guwahati, Assam, my visa situation became uncertain, casting doubt on the remainder of my planned 2-week trip.
Conflicting information and advice surrounded me, leaving me unsure of my next steps. However, everything changed when I visited the temple. As I waited in line to enter, my visa case started gaining momentum. Key pieces of information, previously undisclosed, poured in.
Finally, I entered the temple, a narrow, wet, and dark passageway leading to the heart of the rock – symbolizing the vulva and womb of Goddess Shakti. There, I recited different mantras at various altars, surrounded by the ten tantric goddesses. During my tour, the priest asked where I belonged. I replied, “I’m from the UK, but I belong in India.” His confusion mirrored my complex connection to the Neptune energy.
Moments after leaving the temple, my phone rang. My visa situation had been resolved, and I could stay in India. This profound experience exemplified the power of the Goddess and the influence of Neptune on my journey.
The Essence of Neptune
Describing Neptune’s energy is challenging – and intentionally so. It is elusive, dreamy, and escapist, lacking tangible form. Neptune, the lord of the ocean, stirs the waters, beckoning us away from solid land, perhaps to be lost at sea.
Neptune’s intention is to help us let go of what we know and ascend to a more spiritual version of ourselves. It evokes a deep longing for the divine in its various forms.
However, Neptune erodes boundaries and logic, which often leads to confusion and feeling lost. During my travels in Assam, after the joy of my visa situation being resolved, I sank into a lowness of mood – a kind of depression and loneliness. This Neptunian influence weighed on my heart, leaving me feeling stuck and messy.
What is Neptune Line AstroCartography?
In Astro-Cartography, Neptune invites us to surrender to a more spiritual experience. Places where Neptune influences your astrocartography chart encourage you to connect with higher faith and allow the divine to guide your life. Neptune lines are perfect for spiritual retreats, meditation, and any work involving the mystical.
Neptune rules the subconscious and dream world, making it ideal for dream work or self-reflection.
However, the shadow side of Neptune energy can lead to falling into fantasy, emotional and substance addictions, or extreme lethargy. Boundaries become blurred, making it essential to stay grounded and discerning.
In AstroCartography, there are four variants of the Neptune Line, each corresponding to a different angle on the chart:
- Neptune AS Line (Ascendant): This line represents Neptune rising. Embrace your spiritual side and pursue a spiritual quest. Take care of your physical body and health, avoiding lethargy and addiction.
- Neptune MC Line (Midheaven): Neptune at its full height. This line empowers healers, spiritual teachers, and those who incorporate mysticism into their work. However, it can bring confusion, lack of clarity in professional goals, and poor work-life boundaries.
- Neptune DC Line (Descendant): Neptune on your descendant brings spiritually oriented partnerships. These relationships may feel dreamy and romantic but be cautious of seeing the full picture.
- Neptune IC Line (Immum Coeli): Neptune on the IC indicates a preference for spending time at home, dreaming, and fantasizing. Be wary of making significant property decisions in these areas, as the full truth may elude you.
Neptune lines are most beneficial during Neptune transits or if you have a strong Neptune placement in your birth chart.
Reflecting on my experiences away from the Neptune Line, I now understand the beauty and healing I first encountered, followed by a period of confusion and disillusionment. While under Neptune’s influence, I couldn’t perceive the bigger picture.
Remember, exploring your Neptune Line in astrocartography can offer deep insights, spiritual growth, and profound experiences. Embrace the mystical, but stay grounded and discerning along your journey.
